The General Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting and financial operations, ensuring the accurate recording of transactions, compliance with tax and accounting regulations—primarily in the United States, as well as across Latin America—and providing financial support to an international logistics operation. This role is key to ensuring financial transparency and regulatory compliance in a logistics and freight forwarding company with a regional presence.

This position is based in Bogotá, Colombia. Work model (hybrid or on-site) will be defined based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee the company’s general accounting for operations in the United States and Latin America.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with tax obligations, primarily in the United States and, where applicable, in Latin American countries.
- Record and control transactions specific to the logistics business (billing, operating costs,



freight charges, airport fees, shipping lines, suppliers, and clients).
- Oversee closing processes and internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (IFRS).
- Maintain proper documentation and traceability of financial information.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Public Accountant).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles.
- Proven experience in multinational companies or organizations with regional operations.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. tax regulations (federal and state).
- Experience with accounting systems and ERP software.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
- Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
- Nice to have:
- Knowledge of tax and accounting regulations in Latin America
- Experience in the logistics, transportation, or freight forwarding industry
