About You

You are the person who makes the systems behind a consumer brand run cleanly. You know Shopify and NetSuite deeply, you have connected them to 3PLs, Amazon, POS and wholesale EDI, and you have fixed what broke at 2 a.m. during peak. You'd rather design an integration once and trust it than have people rekey data across systems.

You think like an operator and a product owner. You start from what the business is trying to sell and ship, then build the roadmap, manage the partners, and make sure every team knows what changes for them and when.

Who You Are

- Systems owner: you hold the map of how every system connects, who owns it and who can access what
- Hands-on: you configure, troubleshoot and write the spec yourself, and you can review a partner's code
- Business translator: you turn a merchant's, operator's or controller's need into clear requirements and a delivery date
- Partner manager: you get great work from development agencies and vendors, and you hold them to scope and budget
- Cost-conscious: you consolidate tools and cut spend before adding anything new
- Trustworthy and discreet: you handle customer, payment and financial data with care

How You Operate

- Clean data is the default from the moment an item, order or PO enters the system
- Ops and Finance own business rules and what "done" means; you own the systems and the data underneath
- You publish the roadmap, flag risks early, and tell each team what a change means for them before it lands
- You're warm and direct,

About the Role

This is a new goop x Trolley role. You will own commerce and enterprise technology: goop.com, goopbeauty.com and Gwyn on Shopify, NetSuite, and the integrations that connect them to Amazon, wholesale, retail stores and our 3PLs. You'll partner with the Director, AI, Agents & Data Intelligence, whose agents and insights run on the systems you own.

This is an independent contractor engagement. Selected candidates will contract through Deel, which will make their services available to Elastic Ventures Inc (dba Trolley AI). Services will be performed primarily for Goop Inc. and Trolley AI. This is not an offer of employment with goop or Trolley.

You'll work closely with the Co-CEOs, the executive team, and Operations, Finance, Ecommerce, Client Experience and Retail. You'll manage goop's development partner and systems vendors. IT support and cybersecurity stay with the current IT team. Your first 90 days: publish a technology roadmap tied to business goals, document every system and integration, and stabilize Shopify–NetSuite order flow.

COMMERCE PLATFORMS

- Own goop.com, goopbeauty.com and Gwyn on Shopify, including checkout, apps, performance, uptime and release management




- Manage goop's web development partner on the storefront build and roadmap, with clear scope, priorities and budget
- Tie platform decisions to commerce goals: conversion, retention, average order value and site speed
- Keep catalog and product data structured and clean so goop stays discoverable as shopping moves to AI search and assistants

SITE OPERATIONS, LAUNCHES & MARKETING TECHNOLOGY

- Run launch readiness for peak periods (Black Friday/Cyber Monday, holiday) and for product drops, collaborations and campaigns, including Gwyn and goop Beauty launches
- Set and enforce site performance standards, including Core Web Vitals and checkout uptime; lead triage on critical incidents and publish root-cause reviews
- Own the content management system, product information and on-site search, so editorial and shoppable content can launch without engineering help
- Govern tracking pixels and tags, the event taxonomy, and email/SMS and retention integrations, balancing measurement, privacy and site speed

ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS AND INTEGRATIONS

- Own NetSuite configuration, workflows and administration with Finance and Operations
- Own the integrations: Shopify–NetSuite, 3PL–NetSuite, Amazon, wholesale EDI, retail POS, and any new ones
- Fix order automation between Shopify and NetSuite, and build exception workflows and alerts for stuck, failed or delayed orders
- Build a template-and-validation layer for NetSuite data entry, so most people no longer need direct NetSuite access
- Keep item, cost and inventory data accurate across NetSuite, Shopify, the 3PLs and goop's stores
