Senior Software Engineer - C#/.NET | Insurance Technology

Environment: U.S.-based property insurance company

Compensation: USD $4,500-$6,000/month, based on experience and English level

Engagement: Long-term contractor with no predetermined end date

OttoMate is recruiting an experienced Senior Software Engineer for an established U.S.-based property insurance company specializing in catastrophe-exposed markets.

This is a backend-focused role for a senior engineer who can combine hands-on development with technical leadership, requirements gathering, production support, and direct collaboration with insurance business leaders.

What You'll Do

- Develop and maintain business-critical applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET, and ASP.NET Core
- Design and integrate RESTful APIs , internal services, and third-party platforms
- Support insurance product development, underwriting, risk management, and operational workflows
- Translate business requirements from underwriters, actuaries, risk modelers, and product teams into technical solutions
- Own solutions from requirements and architecture through development, deployment, and ongoing support
- Automate business processes through services, scheduled jobs, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Maintain and modernize legacy applications, including desktop solutions
- Diagnose production issues and implement timely, reliable resolutions
- Collaborate directly with senior business stakeholders and nontechnical leaders
- Establish technical direction while remaining actively involved in development





Required Qualifications

- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, or ASP.NET Core
- Previous insurance industry experience is required
- Experience with REST APIs, service integrations, and enterprise applications
- Strong relational database experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar
- Experience gathering requirements and communicating with nontechnical stakeholders
- Ability to independently design, build, deploy, support, and troubleshoot applications
- Experience with production support, monitoring, automation, and root-cause analysisTechnical leadership, architecture, consulting, or solution-design experience
- Advanced professional English for daily collaboration with U.S.-based teams
- Currently based in Mexico
