Manufacturing Training Specialist

Consolidated Metal Products is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Training Specialist to develop, deliver, and improve employee training programs across its manufacturing operations.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role will spend significant time on the production floor, providing hands-on instruction, developing standardized training programs, and working with supervisors to improve employee skills and performance. A key focus will be building and organizing training content while transitioning existing manual processes into Paylocity's Learning Management System (LMS).

What You’ll Do

- Develop and deliver hands-on training for new hires, existing employees, and employees transitioning into new roles.
- Train employees on manufacturing equipment, processes, standard operating procedures, and safe work practices.
- Build structured on-the-job training programs, competency assessments, skills matrices, and training documentation.
- Lead the transition of existing training materials and processes into Paylocity's LMS.
- Create instructional materials, videos, assessments, and digital learning content.
- Partner with production supervisors and technical experts to identify training needs and standardize best practices.
- Coordinate onboarding, cross-training, and employee development initiatives across departments and shifts.
- Support safety, quality, and compliance training in partnership with operational leadership.
- Track training completion, employee qualifications, and certifications to ensure accurate records.




- Evaluate training effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve employee performance, safety, and quality.

What We’re Looking For

- 3–5 years of manufacturing or industrial experience.
- Experience providing hands-on employee training, coaching, or technical instruction.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, processes, safety practices, and standard operating procedures.
- Strong technical aptitude and comfort using digital training tools, software, and LMS platforms.
- Ability to develop clear, effective training materials and assessments for employees with varying experience levels.
- Comfortable working directly on the production floor, demonstrating tasks, and collaborating with supervisors and employees.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and flexibility to support multiple shifts.
- Experience implementing an LMS, building training programs, or transitioning manual training processes to digital systems is a strong plus.
- Mechanical aptitude, experience with OSHA/ISO/IATF requirements, or Train-the-Trainer certification is a plus.
