About the Role
Our client is a growing e-commerce agency that helps brands scale on Amazon and other marketplaces. They want a senior marketplace operator to own a portfolio of brand accounts end to end, covering strategy, catalog, inventory, profitability and the client relationship. You’ll lead a small pod of 1–2 Analysts and act as each brand’s main day-to-day contact.
The role suits someone who builds their own forecasts, knows Seller and Vendor Central in depth, and will tell a client the truth when the numbers call for it.
What You’ll Own
Strategy and client leadership
- Account strategy and planning: Lead brand growth strategy, annual planning, revenue forecasting and onboarding. Run competitive analysis and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) that surface expansion opportunities.
- Client management: Be the main day-to-day contact. Run strategy calls, set and manage expectations, and raise risks and wins with stakeholders early.
- Analytics and reporting: Deliver clear reporting on revenue, traffic and market share. Use Search Query Performance and CX Health data to drive listing improvements.
Catalog, storefront and assortment
- Catalog and content optimization: Audit and optimize listing SEO (titles, bullets, A+ Content), starting with the highest-revenue ASINs. Manage variation structure, run bulk uploads and resolve listing alerts.
- Brand Store: Plan store architecture, analyze traffic and coordinate seasonal updates and ad traffic routing.
- Product and assortment: Plan product lifecycles, launch sequences, bundles and promotional calendars (deals, Prime Day). Advise on pricing and MAP compliance.
Profitability and operations
- Pricing and profitability: Model ASIN-level margins, including FBA fees and ad costs,
before any pricing change. Manage Vendor Central economics such as chargebacks and accruals.
- Inventory and operations: Track FBA restock velocity to prevent stockouts. Resolve stranded inventory, evaluate FBA vs. MFN, and see Amazon cases through to closure.
- Platform operations: Work across Seller Central, Vendor Central, Brand Registry and Account Health to resolve complex issues such as hijackers and suppressed listings.
- Brand protection: Enforce IP, act on unauthorized sellers, monitor Buy Box hijacking and oversee Vine review strategy.
Cross-functional and multi-marketplace
- Advertising coordination: Work with the ads team on keyword strategy and budget shifts, and confirm listings are fully optimized before ad spend scales.
- Multi-marketplace: Adapt and run strategies for Walmart (WFS, Rich Media) and Target Plus.
- People management: Lead 1–2 Analysts, build repeatable operating checklists and QA everything your pod delivers.
