Human Resources Generalist

Consolidated Metal Products is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support daily HR operations, strengthen employee relations, and serve as a trusted resource for employees and supervisors across its manufacturing facility.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role will spend significant time on the production floor, building relationships, addressing employee concerns, and supporting recruiting, onboarding, and HR initiatives. This individual will also help improve HR processes, maintain accurate employee records, and support training and employee development efforts.

What You’ll Do

- Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, building relationships with employees, supervisors, and leadership.
- Serve as an accessible HR resource, addressing employee questions, workplace concerns, and routine employee relations matters.
- Support conflict resolution, employee documentation, attendance concerns, and consistent application of workplace policies.
- Partner with supervisors to strengthen communication, accountability, employee engagement, and retention.
- Support recruiting for hourly manufacturing and other positions, including screening, scheduling, and candidate communication.
- Coordinate onboarding activities, new-hire follow-ups, and employee orientation documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS information, personnel changes, and required documentation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes, improve workflows, and eliminate manual or inconsistent practices.
- Assist with employee training initiatives, training records, certification tracking, and LMS implementation.




- Support benefits administration, leave-related inquiries, compliance documentation, and other HR activities.

What We’re Looking For

- At least 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Previous HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
- Strong employee relations experience, including handling workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and difficult conversations.
- Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, HR systems, and employee records.
- Working knowledge of FMLA, employment laws, and general HR compliance practices.
- Comfortable spending significant time on the production floor and working directly with hourly employees and supervisors.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities independently, maintain confidentiality, and follow through on commitments.
- Experience improving HR processes, implementing HRIS systems, or supporting continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
- Paylocity experience, SHRM-CP/PHR certification, or a degree in HR, business, or a related field is a plus.
