Position: Process Engineer

Employment Type: Full-Time – On-Site

About the Position

We are seeking a Mid-Level Process Design Engineer to join our growing Process Engineering team in our Bogotá office. The idóneo candidate will have more than 5 years of experience in process design related to the energy sector. Experience in Oil & Gas—particularly in midstream and biogas projects—is highly valued. This role will support a variety of multidisciplinary energy projects and will also involve direct interaction with clients.

Knowledge and Experience

- More than 5 years of experience in the energy sector, specifically in Oil & Gas, midstream, and biogas, or in mechanical process design engineering.
- Advanced experience with engineering design principles and applicable guidelines, codes, and standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of process design and management of process engineering work.
- Ability to deliver presentations to clients.
- Ability to generate complete process engineering documents and review vendor drawings and specifications.
- Ability to design P&IDs; and supervise drafting teams.
- Ability to size equipment and generate technical specifications.
- Familiarity with the specification and installation of equipment, piping, and instrumentation.
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., ASPEN Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD, Promax, PRO II).
- Experience with hydraulic analysis software (e.g., AFT Fathom, Arrow, PIPE-FLO).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,



Outlook, etc.).

Education

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university is required.

Responsibilities

- Lead process engineering tasks in a multidisciplinary environment under general supervision.
- Deliver process engineering deliverables on time, within budget, and with the level of quality and accuracy expected by clients.
- Apply knowledge of process design and process safety.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs;), equipment specifications, equipment data sheets, and cost estimates; support layout development.
- Supervise P&ID; drafting teams.
- Review and approve process engineering deliverables.
- Develop the project-specific basis of design, incorporate client requirements, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and standards.
- Identify and communicate project scope changes to the supervisor.
- Produce optimized designs, engineering calculations, preliminary designs, and material take-offs suitable for cost estimating.
- Review vendor fabrication drawings and other construction documents to verify compliance with process design intent, industry codes/standards, and engineering best practices.
- Coordinate and consult with other disciplines to ensure quality and efficient project workflow.
- Participate in client presentations.
