Spanish and English Speaking Immigration Legal Assistant/Paralegal

We are an immigration law firm looking for a self motivated experienced Immigration Legal Assistant to ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney.

Responsibilities

- Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness
- Handle communication with clients
- Prepare forms/packets to be filed with USCIS and Immigration Court
- Administratively support trials
- Locate and develop case relevant information
- Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Collect and process payment from clients
- Maintain contact lists
- Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars

Skills

- Must be fluent in Spanish and English
- Portuguese fluency is a major plus
- Working experience an immigration legal assistant or paralegal required
- Familiarity with immigration law, legal procedures and protocols,



and court system required
- Computer literacy
- Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
