Cayena Associates is seeking an experienced Overhead Transmission Line Engineer with 5+ years of experience in the design and development of high- and extra-high-voltage (HV/EHV) overhead transmission lines to join our team. The adecuado candidate will have a strong technical background in transmission line engineering, including line routing, structure and conductor design, clearance and loading analysis, and PLS-CADD-based modeling and analysis.

As part of our team, your responsibilities will include:

- Participating in overhead transmission line engineering projects throughout the United States, supporting projects across the states where the company operates.
- Applying applicable U.S. codes, standards, and industry practices, including the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), IEEE guidelines, ASCE standards and codes, as well as applicable client-specific standards and requirements.
- Preparing engineering deliverables and technical documentation for overhead transmission lines ranging from 38 kV to 500 kV.
- Developing project-specific design criteria, engineering requirements, and technical specifications based on the conditions and requirements of each project.
- Determining optimal structure locations and structure spotting based on technical, environmental, social, and constructability criteria, as well as evaluating design loading criteria and structural performance.
- Developing and maintaining transmission line models using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
- Performing engineering calculations and preparing sag-tension charts, loading tables, aeolian vibration reports, clearance analyses, electrical safety reports,



and other related engineering documentation.
- Preparing project drawings and engineering documents, including Plan & Profile drawings, general location plans, structure geometry and assembly drawings, structure lists, Bills of Materials (BOMs), CAPEX estimates, and easement analyses.
- Preparing design, construction, and hardware specifications, and providing technical support during construction and field activities, as required.
- Supporting the evaluation and resolution of technical issues, design conflicts, and field-related engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinating with project managers, clients, engineers, utilities, and other stakeholders to ensure that engineering deliverables meet project requirements, applicable standards, and quality expectations.
- Demonstrable experience and proficiency in PLS-CADD is mandatory.
- Basic knowledge in AutoCAD is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of GIS software, such as Global Mapper, ArcGIS, or QGIS, is a plus.
- Intermediate knowledge of PLS-TOWER is a plus.

Work mode and location

The work mode for the first 3 months is in-person, with the aim of facilitating adaptation and learning. Subsequently, the mode will be hybrid.
