PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The HR Generalist role will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day HR operations including but not limited to preparing HR documentation, data integrity auditing, reviews and leave management processes. The HR Generalist works in collaboration with the HR leadership team supporting multiple sites, functions in Canada and United States while promoting consistency, confidentiality, responsiveness and alignment with company policies, employment legislation and business priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct 30-day check-ins for new hires as required.
- Create / update job descriptions in partnership with managers as required and key it into the job architect platform.
- Conduct monthly MySGS audits for data integrity. Example – mismatched job codes, salary grades, incorrect or inconsistent job titles and process updates/corrections on financial cost coding.
- Run vacation usage reports and send them to the managers and copy HRBP.
- Send Power BI HR insight data to managers on an as needed basis.
- Process mandatory union increases including creating upload file once required approvals are confirmed
- Prepare quarterly commission payout letters and key it into MySGS once approved.
- Track mandatory training as required and email managers and send reminders to employees.
- Provide business partner administrative support with HR documentation including, but not limited to, promotions, transfers, salary changes,
status changes, and severance agreements.
- Create and distribute termination paperwork, including letters benefits impact after separation information to employees.
- Provide support on an ad-hoc basis to the Senior HR Generalist – Employee Relations.
- Leave of absence management in partnership with Benefits leave administrator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience 2+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or in a multi-faceted HR role within a multinational environment or Shared Services Center. Experience with USA and/or Canadian markets is essential, given the regulatory complexity and accuracy requirements of these regions.
Education
Professional in Business Administration, Psychology, Human Resources, or related fields.
Languages
Proficiency in English (level B2 or higher) IS REQUIRED to accurately interpret legal and contractual documents.
Proficiency in French IS PREFERRED for operations in Canada to accurately interpret legal and contractual documents.
