Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, edit, and prepare legal documents related to Workers Compensation cases, including Applications for Adjudication, Declarations of Readiness, Petitions, and Settlement Documents (e.g., C&R;, Stipulations).
- Draft complaints, motions, and discovery for employment law litigation matters as needed.
- Review and organize case materials, medical records, and evidence.
- Coordinate hearings, depositions, and WCAB calendar deadlines.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
- Assist attorneys with case management, trial preparation, and settlement processes.
Qualifications:
- Required: Demonstrated experience working on California Workers Compensation cases (WCAB procedures, forms, and timelines).
- Knowledge of California employment law is a plus.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents and managing litigation deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal setting is required.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Associates degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred.
