An established marine organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to support its operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with genuine ship repair experience who is looking to relocate to the Caribbean and join a busy marine operation working across a variety of vessel repair, maintenance and conversion projects.

THE ROLE

The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing repair specifications and enquiries, developing accurate cost estimates and preparing competitive commercial quotations for vessel repair projects.

You will work closely with Commercial, Operations, Procurement and Technical teams to ensure quotations accurately reflect the required scope, labour, materials, subcontractors and project timescales.

Key Responsibilities

? Review vessel repair specifications, RFQs, drawings and technical documentation.

? Prepare detailed estimates and commercial quotations for ship repair projects.

? Conduct vessel inspections and attend pre-tender/site meetings where required.

? Calculate labour hours, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements.

? Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.

? Develop cost estimates across steel, mechanical, piping, electrical,



blasting, painting and general ship repair activities.

? Identify technical requirements, risks and potential variations within repair specifications.

? Liaise with customers to clarify technical scopes and commercial requirements.

? Work closely with Production and Project teams to ensure estimates are realistic and achievable.

? Support tender negotiations and commercial discussions.

? Assist with handover of awarded projects from Estimating/Commercial into Operations.

? Review completed projects against original estimates to improve future costing accuracy.

The Person

We are looking for candidates with:

⚓ Previous Estimating experience within ship repair.

⚓ Strong understanding of vessel repair and maintenance activities.

⚓ Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and repair scopes.

⚓ Good knowledge of labour, materials, subcontracting and shipyard costing.

⚓ Commercial awareness with the ability to prepare accurate and competitive quotations.

⚓ Strong communication and client-facing skills.

⚓ Ability to work effectively with Commercial, Procurement, Production and Project Management teams.

⚓ Good written and spoken English, Spanish is a plus
