We are seeking a Lead UI Artist to take ownership of the game UI's look and feel, from high-fidelity design through ship-quality implementation in Unreal Engine 5. You'll bridge visual design and tech art to deliver performant, accessible, and localization-ready UI across platforms. Apply to help elevate UI quality!

Responsibilities

- Drive the end-to-end UI visual direction to ensure a consistent look and feel
- Transform UX wireframes into high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, design systems, and style guides
- Deliver final UI art in Unreal Editor using UMG, widget animations, and materials
- Craft game menus, HUD elements, iconography, and UI motion that support gameplay clarity
- Create UI materials and shaders, plus 2D or animated effects aligned to the UI theme
- Develop basic Blueprint logic to support UI behavior and visual feedback
- Optimize UI assets for PC, console, and mobile without compromising quality
- Ensure UI supports accessibility and localization readiness across screens and languages
- Maintain UI asset libraries, reusable components, and documentation for the team
- Partner with game design and engineering to align visuals with UX and technical constraints
- Assess UI implementation quality and drive improvements through iteration and polish

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional background in a UI Artist role or a closely related art discipline, ideally within games
- Minimum 1 year of relevant leadership experience
- Hands-on expertise in Unreal Engine 5 for building and theming UI (UMG, Slate, Material Editor)
- Strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX visual design, texturing, and iconography
- Demonstrated ownership of a UI theme or visual system from concept through final implementation




- Expert proficiency in Figma and UI style guide creation
- Solid understanding of UI materials and shaders for game engines or equivalent 3D/FX tools
- Knowledge of texture optimization, atlasing, and real-time UI performance considerations
- Sharp eye for typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy
- Collaboration skills with the capability to work cross-functionally with design and engineering
- High ownership mindset with meticulous attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity
- Communication skills to explain visual and technical trade-offs clearly
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)

Nice to have

- Skills in Niagara for UI-driven visual effects
- Familiarity with responsive or adaptive UI across multiple platforms and resolutions
- Background in branding or motion graphics
- Expertise in integrating or collaborating with AI assistants in creative or production workflows
- Understanding of gaming UI trends and usability patterns
