We are seeking a Lead UI Artist to take ownership of how the game UI looks and feels, from high-fidelity design through ship-quality execution in Unreal Engine 5. You'll connect visual design with tech art to deliver performant, accessible, and localization-ready UI across platforms. Apply to help elevate the bar on UI quality!

Responsibilities

- Drive the end-to-end UI visual direction to guarantee a consistent look and feel
- Convert UX wireframes into high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, design systems, and style guides
- Deliver final UI art in Unreal Editor with UMG, widget animations, and materials
- Craft game menus, HUD elements, iconography, and UI motion that reinforce gameplay clarity
- Create UI materials and shaders, along with 2D or animated effects aligned to the UI theme
- Develop basic Blueprint logic that supports UI behavior and visual feedback
- Tune UI assets for PC, console, and mobile without compromising quality
- Guarantee UI supports accessibility and localization readiness across screens and languages
- Maintain UI asset libraries, reusable components, and documentation for the team
- Partner with game design and engineering to align visuals with UX and technical constraints
- Assess UI implementation quality and drive improvements through iteration and polish

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional experience as a UI Artist or in a closely related art discipline, ideally within games
- Minimum 1 year of relevant leadership experience
- Hands-on background in Unreal Engine 5 building and theming UI (UMG, Slate, Material Editor)
- Showcase of UI/UX visual design, texturing, and iconography through a strong portfolio
- Proven ownership of a UI theme or visual system from concept through final implementation




- Expertise in Figma and UI style guide creation
- Strong understanding of UI materials and shaders for game engines or equivalent 3D/FX tools
- Solid knowledge of texture optimization, atlasing, and real-time UI performance considerations
- Excellent eye for typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy
- Skills in collaboration with the capability to work cross-functionally with design and engineering
- High ownership mindset with sharp attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity
- Communication skills to explain visual and technical trade-offs clearly
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)

Nice to have

- Background in Niagara for UI-driven visual effects
- Familiarity with responsive or adaptive UI across multiple platforms and resolutions
- Qualifications in branding or motion graphics
- Proficiency in integrating or collaborating with AI assistants in creative or production workflows
- Understanding of gaming UI trends and usability patterns
