We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join the Flood Services team and support the remediation of security vulnerabilities across a group of business-critical applications.

The adecuado candidate has solid hands-on experience with Java and the Spring Framework and is comfortable working with existing enterprise applications, analyzing security findings, and implementing secure and maintainable fixes. Experience with Angular is a nice-to-have, as some applications include front-end components that may also require updates.

The applications are established enterprise systems with multiple business-critical workflows and integrations. As a Java Developer, you will primarily focus on improving application security and maintaining the existing Flood platform.

Responsibilities

- Analyze and remediate security vulnerabilities identified across Flood applications
- Develop, modify, and maintain backend functionality using Java and Spring
- Investigate existing code and determine appropriate solutions that address vulnerabilities without negatively affecting business functionality
- Upgrade or update vulnerable libraries, frameworks, and application dependencies where required
- Perform code-level remediation based on security findings and secure development practices
- Troubleshoot application issues resulting from security fixes, dependency upgrades, or existing implementation
- Write clean, maintainable, and secure code
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation of implemented fixes
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, product stakeholders, and other members of the Flood Services team
- Contribute to front-end changes where needed if Angular experience is available
- Support continuous improvement of application security and technical quality

Requirements





- Solid commercial software development experience with Java (2+ years)
- Strong hands-on knowledge of the Spring Framework and Spring Boot
- Background in enterprise applications and existing/legacy codebases
- Understanding of REST APIs, backend application development, and common application security vulnerabilities and secure coding practices
- Ability to investigate security findings, identify root causes, and implement appropriate fixes
- Experience with dependency/library upgrades and resolving related compatibility issues
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a distributed team
- Good English communication skills (B1+ level or higher)

Nice to have

- Experience with Angular
- Previous experience with security vulnerability remediation projects
- Skills in security scanning and static analysis tools
- Expertise in modernizing or maintaining large enterprise applications
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
