The Role
We are looking for a bilingual lawyer who can move between Spanish and English with total confidence. You will advise on law matters, prepare and review legal documents, and translate legal and official materials accurately so that nothing gets lost between languages or legal systems.
In your first 90 days, you have taken ownership of every open law matter, built a clear system for tracking cases, deadlines, and filings, and delivered translations that are trusted without needing a second review. Leadership sees you as the go to person for anything legal that requires both precision and bilingual fluency.

What You’ll Do
You’ll hit the ground running. Here’s what that looks like:

- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents such as agreements, powers of attorney, petitions, settlements, and formal correspondence
- Translate legal, notarial, and official documents between Spanish and English with full accuracy in terminology, tone, and legal meaning
- Represent matters before notaries, family commissaries (comisarías de familia), courts, and other Colombian authorities as needed
- Coordinate apostilles, certified translations, notarizations, and document legalization for use in Colombia and abroad
- Research legal questions and deliver clear, practical recommendations in both languages to leadership
- Track case status, deadlines, and filings so every matter moves forward on time and nothing slips

What You Bring
Must Haves





- Law degree from an accredited Colombian university with an active Tarjeta Cualificado de Abogado
- 3+ years of experience practicing family law in Colombia
- C2 level English, written and spoken, with the ability to translate complex legal documents without loss of meaning
- Strong drafting skills in both Spanish and English
- Absolute discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive personal and legal information
- Ability to work on site in Medellin every day

Great to Have

- Specialization or postgraduate studies in family law, civil law, or international private law
- Certification as an official translator (Traductor e Intérprete Oficial)
