Senior FinOps Specialist

About the Role

Mediahuis is strengthening its Technology & Product Studio with a Senior FinOps Specialist to make its multi-cloud environment financially sustainable, transparent, and efficient. You will work at the intersection of cloud technology, finance, and business. The role focuses on helping teams understand their cloud usage and costs, take ownership, and make better-informed decisions. You will collaborate with engineering, platform, finance, and management teams to translate cloud data into actionable insights, support financial planning, and continuously improve cloud value across AWS, Azure, GCP, and private cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Build transparency around cloud costs and develop clear showback models.
- Establish and monitor standards for tagging, ownership, and cost allocation.
- Support cloud-cost forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
- Analyse cloud usage and identify cost-optimization opportunities.
- Develop dashboards, reports, analyses, and recommendations.
- Work with engineering, platform, finance, and management stakeholders.
- Help embed FinOps practices across Mediahuis.
- Support teams in understanding the reasons behind their cloud costs, the value generated, and opportunities to work more efficiently.

Required Skills

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, cloud governance, cloud engineering, or cloud financial management.
- Knowledge of at least one major public cloud platform.
- Experience with cost allocation, tagging, showback or chargeback, forecasting, budgeting, and cloud optimization.
- Sufficient technical understanding to work effectively with engineering and cloud or platform teams.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn large data sets into clear insights and actions.




- Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect technical and financial stakeholders.
- Pragmatic and proactive approach, including helping to implement solutions.
- Professional proficiency in English.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience with GCP.
- Experience with FinOps frameworks.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner certification.
