Role Description

This role is a contract assignment at Palo Alto Networks. Contractors will not be employed by Palo Alto Networks but through our trusted staffing partners. Palo Alto Networks is looking for an AI & Automation Engineer - Contractor to architect, test, and deploy autonomous AI solutions and enterprise automation workflows. Reporting within the technical leadership team, this position offers a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to transform manual processes into automated AI predictive engines in a dynamic, international environment.

Your Impact

The AI & Automation Engineer is a critical driver of operational efficiency, advanced analytics, and intelligent workflow automation across our general teams. Working at the intersection of AI architecture and enterprise systems, you will bridge the gap between workforce planning requirements and production-grade LLM applications. This fast-paced role demands an innovative, hands‑on engineer who excels at building secure API integrations, deploying autonomous agents, and connecting complex predictive data to executive dashboards.

Key Responsibilities:

- AI Agent Development & Architecture: Architect, test, and deploy autonomous AI agents using LangChain/LlamaIndex for workflow automation and task routing.
- Predictive Analytics & Forecasting: Evolve enterprise capacity forecasting from manual spreadsheets into an automated AI predictive analytics engine.
- API Integration & System Connectivity: Build secure API integrations between core business platforms, including Planview, Salesforce, Asana, Slack, Magnit, and Google Workspace.
- Dashboarding & Business Intelligence: Connect AI outputs to Data Studio (Looker) and Tableau dashboards for real-time visibility into workforce metrics.
- Cross-Functional Requirement Gathering: Partner with Workforce Planning and Practice Leads to gather technical requirements,



conduct gap analyses, and align automation with business needs.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Continuously monitor and evaluate agent performance, accuracy, and operational efficiency to drive iterative enhancements.

Your Experience:

Technical Acumen:

- Advanced Python expertise paired with hands‑on experience deploying LLMs into production using frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex and ML libraries (PyTorch/TensorFlow).
- Proven track record in integrating APIs and scripting BI dashboards in Data Studio/Looker or Tableau.
- Proficiency with Google Suite and MS Office applications.

Professional Experience:

- 3–5 years of relevant experience in an international reporting environment.
- Experience in Professional Services, Workforce Planning, or capacity forecasting is a strong plus.
- Proactive problem‑solving, critical thinking abilities, and adaptability in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with high‑performing internal and outsourced teams as a strong team player.

Communication:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to delivering high‑quality results. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience); a Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
