Open Management is a growing property management company that owns and operates a portfolio of 30+ manufactured home communities across the United States.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant to take ownership of portfolio-level accounting across our communities. This is a hands‑on, analytical role suited for an accountant who thrives in high‑volume environments and can independently manage reconciliations, debt tracking, and month‑end close.
This is not a bookkeeping or data-entry role. We are looking for a professional who can investigate discrepancies, ensure financial accuracy, and take full ownership of assigned communities.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for accounting across 30+ manufactured home communities, ensuring accurate reporting, clean reconciliations, and timely month‑end close.
This role requires prior experience in property management accounting and direct experience using Rent Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounting across 30+ manufactured home communities
- Own month‑end close process for assigned communities
- Prepare and review property-level financial statements
- Analyze variances and proactively investigate discrepancies
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to leadership
High‑Volume Bank Reconciliations
- Perform and review high‑volume reconciliations across multiple bank accounts
- Independently resolve discrepancies between bank activity and system records
Debt & Loan Accounting
- Track and reconcile mortgage payments, lines of credit, and other loan‑related transactions
- Ensure proper classification of principal, interest, and escrow activity
- Communicate with lenders and servicers when discrepancies arise
Process Improvement
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Strengthen controls and increase reporting accuracy
Required Qualifications
- 3–6+ years of accounting experience (property management strongly preferred)
- Direct experience using Rent Manager (required)
- Experience managing accounting across multiple properties/entities simultaneously
- Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Experience with mortgage and debt accounting
- Ability to work independently and meet EST working hours
Preferred
- Experience with manufactured housing or multi‑family portfolios
- CPA or equivalent certification (a plus, not required)
