What you'll do

- Write feature stories, founder profiles, thought leadership pieces, and news articles for a portfolio of 15 to 25 retainer clients, delivering each client's monthly story quota on time.
- Own each client's delivery schedule. Know at any moment how many stories each client is owed this month, which are drafted, which are submitted, and which are live, and act before anything falls behind. A client should never have to ask where their stories are.
- Use LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to draft, research,



and edit faster, then apply your own judgment. You are responsible for every fact, quote, and sentence that goes out under your name.
- Get on calls with clients when a story needs it: to interview a founder or executive, agree on an angle, walk through feedback, or reset expectations when a story is delayed or a publication pushes back.
- Research each client's business, interview founders and executives as needed, and identify angles a real editor would run.
- Write in distinct journalistic voices suited to each outlet. A USA Today story does not read like a Hackernoon story.
- Format each story to the target publication's guidelines: headline rules, word count, link limits, image specs, and known rejection triggers.
- Submit stories directly to publication contacts via email, portal, or shared document, track turnaround times, and follow up when a story is past its expected publication date.
- Confirm each story is live and send the published link to the client the same day.
- Handle client feedback and revisions directly and keep clients informed about the status of their stories.
- Keep HubSpot tickets up to date so anyone on the team can see the status of any story at any time.
- Escalate rejections, unresponsive publication contacts, or unfamiliar submission processes to the publications support team, and learn from each to prevent it from recurring.
